Mental Health Counseling with Taylor August

Meet Taylor August, LMHC

Hello and welcome! I'm a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) who provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space for individuals navigating life’s complexities, including relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices and guided by the belief that therapy works best as a compassionate partnership, where each person’s experiences, strengths, and goals shape the process.

My approach is collaborative and practical, focusing on increasing understanding of thoughts and emotions, managing stress, and building skills that can be applied in daily life. I also offer therapy for anxiety, ensuring that sessions are compassionate and individualized, with an emphasis on meaningful, lasting change.

Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to navigate things alone. I invite you to reach out to schedule a consultation and see if we may be a good fit.

My Background

I completed my Bachelor of Science from Lasell University, where I gained valuable experience during internships with Riverside Community Care, focusing on early intervention and adult community mental health. Following this, I worked as a special education teacher and clinician at Franciscan Children’s Hospital’s Kennedy Day School.

I later earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William James College, with an emphasis on Health and Behavioral Medicine. My diverse background across school-based and community settings informs my work as a licensed mental health counselor, allowing me to adopt a collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based approach. At August Sun Counseling, I strive to create a supportive space where individuals facing relationship challenges or seeking therapy for anxiety feel understood, empowered, and equipped to move forward with clarity and confidence.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency do not use this website or email. These services are not monitored 24/7. Call 911 or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988).
